About Desert Elite Mavericks

The Desert Elite Mavericks (formerly Desert Valley and/or DVAS) was started in 1997 and since day one we have prided ourselves in being among the best. Now in our 30th year, we remain a small gym program that is close-knit and very family-oriented. Our goal has been and continues to be to offer a quality, competitive program for ages 3-18, beginning through advanced, that is open to any individual who wants to cheer. There is no experience required, because we are in the business of “creating” cheerleaders. Located in the Coachella Valley, our members are from all high and low desert cities. Our team colors are navy, teal, silver, and white and our mascot is a “Maverick” – chosen because of its nature to set itself apart from others.

Our mission here at Desert Elite is to create strong, competitive athletes that work hard and are focused on achieving their goals both in the sport of cheerleading and in life. Through the values and lessons of our sport athletes learn self-discipline and commitment to a task, as well as resilience and teamwork.  The Desert Elite is a strong group of competitive individuals that are consistently looking to improve on their performance, skills, and motivation for life. Teamwork is key for the success of the Desert Elite family, but from day one our athletes learn that in order for our unit to function successfully and achieve its goals every individual must take full responsibility for their own actions.

Being a member of the Desert Elite is a huge family commitment involving the responsibility of regular attendance, active participation, and elite athletic excellence. We focus on each and every individual that walks through our door so that everyone feels welcomed, strong, and confident in the sport.  We are #tealstrong!
